Silicon carbide is used as a coating material because it has unparalleled wear and corrosion resistance and outstanding thermal conductivity. It's suitability for high temperature applications makes it an ideal surface for products used in demanding environments. The SiC CVD annealing processes used to apply SiC coatings onto various surfaces often use pure gases to reduce imperfections in the surface coating. Excess oxygen in the process can cause formation of silicon oxide on coated surfaces. So, nitrogen, argon or hydrogen purifiers are necessary to prevent contamination in SiC coating processes.
PureGuard catalytic or heated getter purifiers and HP Series palladium purifiers may all be used for SiC Coating applications. Refer to the Product Wizard for specific options for your gas and flow rate.
Typical Gases: Hydrogen, Nitrogen, Argon
